Our most popular conference course! Students learn how to investigate social media drug and firearm traffickers through a variety of strategies and techniques.
This class focuses on investigating the movement of illicit funds (whether the source be fraud, financial crimes, or drug/gun/human trafficking) through P2P payment applications (CashApp, Venmo, etc.) and online banks.
Students will “deep dive” into Snapchat, learning about the platform and how criminals exploit certain features, what to ask for when authoring legal process, and what the data produced by Snapchat means (including geolocation data).
Taught by law enforcement for investigators, this class focuses on CalECPA requirements (legal process language, “sealing” evidence, notifications, court orders, etc.) and strategies to tackle them effectively.
Learn how to find wanted fugitives through social media: Undercover Surveillance, Pen Registers, Geolocation Data & Chasing IP Addresses to locate where suspects are logging in from.
