Terms of Service
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing Tradecraft Training, registering for a course, attending a course, exchanging any form of communication with Tradecraft Training, or downloading any course materials or information from our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
Access to our course registration system, student portals (for downloading course materials), and our online / virtual courses is strictly limited to registered students of Tradecraft Training courses.
Attending Tradecraft Training courses or accessing course materials is strictly limited to law enforcement professionals, to include (but not limited to) active law enforcement officers, agents, investigators or detectives sworn and certified with peace officer powers, supervisors to sworn peace officers as described previously, federal agents or investigators of agencies serving a law enforcement mission, civilian analysts or technicians assigned to a law enforcement agency, correctional deputies or officers, probation or parole officers, district attorney or prosecutorial investigators, or currently assigned and working prosecutors, attorney general staff, or state or federal attorneys responsible for the prosecution of criminal offenses and employed by the government. Any exception to the above eligibility must be authorized by writing.
Tradecraft Training does not provide training or access to course materials to the general public, media, civilian experts, civilian investigators, or attorneys not actively employed by the government in a prosecutorial role.
Course Registration
Students registering for courses must meet the above-described eligibility requirements. All course fees are listed in USD and payments are processed securely via a third party payment processor. Any refunds are handled according to our refund policy.
We reserve the right to cancel a course registration or deny attendance or access to course materials to any students determined to be ineligible to attend based on the eligibility requirements outlined above, or at our discretion for violations of these terms of service.
In compliance with our intellectual property term(s) of service described below, it should be noted that our course registration and subsequent access to course materials is on a per student basis. Simply put – each student attending the course and downloading course materials shall be a registered student. We are aware of past instances of students screen recording courses and sharing them throughout their agency, or multiple investigators watching / attending the course under one registration. We respectfully remind students that this is unethical and potentially illegal conduct.
Intellectual Property
Our instructors commit hundreds of hours to creating and maintaining training materials, to include presentation slides, course handouts, and our website. Given that most of our topics are technological in nature and change frequently, our instructors commit extensive time to updating presentations and handouts to ensure students have the most current, up to date information.
As such, all content, including course materials, presentations, videos, graphics, course handouts and tools are Copyright © Tradecraft Training, with all rights reserved.
Students may not copy, distribute, reproduce or share our content without written permission. This includes screen recording presentations to share, or dissemination of course materials (such as templates or how to guides).
User / Student Conduct
By visiting our website, registering for our courses, attending our courses, and downloading course materials, you agree not to (1) screen record or otherwise capture virtual presentations (such as downloading the provided screen recording) to share with others, (2) Commit any illegal activities such as theft of intellectual property or copyright violations, (3) disrupt the websites operation or servers, and (4) share download links, passwords, or course materials.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
All Tradecraft Training courses, course handouts and materials, or communications with instructors are educational only and strictly for the purpose of educating law enforcement professionals on advanced technology-based criminal investigation strategies, techniques, tools and resources.
In no way is Tradecraft Training, under any circumstances, providing any legal advice or assisting students with criminal investigations as a material witness. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize example templates, case law, or information provided as resources only. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their local prosecutors and/or legal professionals collaboratively on investigations and not rely upon example templates provided by Tradecraft Training or other sources.
Tradecraft Training is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from students attending our courses, downloading our course materials, utilizing those course materials, or utilizing our website.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Privacy Policy
Information We Collect
Through access and utilization of our website, we may collect some information to assist in ensuring the website is secure, download and course materials are protected, and to ensure our website is performing as expected. This information may include user information and access information such as IP addresses, geolocation data derived from IP addresses, login and access dates and times, cookies and analytic information to assist in improving the website and personalizing user experiences.
By joining our mailing list, accessing student downloads, or registering for courses, we may collect personal information to include your name, email address, phone number, payment information, agency information, and student surveys or feedback.
How We Use Your Information
The information collected is utilized to maintain the security of the website and student portals for course handouts, to include monitoring password usage, access, and ensure that course materials are not being shared outside of our terms of use or otherwise compromised.
Users who provide their email address to access the course materials, who are not subscribed to our mailing list, may receive a one time email with upcoming course offerings and requesting they join our mailing list. No emails collected (aside from our mailing list form specifically) will be automatically be added to our mailing list without user consent and permission. Any users subscribed to our mailing list may unsubscribe at any time.
We may utilize your information to contact you and/or your law enforcement agency to confirm your eligibility for attending our courses, verify your identity and employment status, communicate information about courses registered, provide links to access the course and course materials, and to deliver important information after the course.
Users who register and pay for courses electronically, providing electronic payment information, will have their information shared with a third party payment processor (see below) to handle the payments. Payment information is not retained by Tradecraft Training after payments are processed.
We may occasionally use information collected to improve our products, offerings, and website. This includes reviewing student feedback in course surveys, contacting students with requests for feedback, and reviewing website analytic data to ensure students have reliable access to our website and course materials.
Sharing Information
Tradecraft Training reserves the right to share information with third party service providers for which we have agreements with, to include: (1) Our online registration and payment processing system, (2) Our online course delivery system (for live webinars) and (3) our email platform.
Tradecraft Training will produce information collected if and when required by law (such as via legal process, subpoena, or search warrant).
Tradecraft Training offers training to law enforcement and as such partners with numerous law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies in the development, use, and delivery of our courses and course materials. As such, we exclusively reserve the right to provide or furnish information, when requested or at the discretion of Tradecraft Training, to law enforcement or prosecutorial agencies. This may include, for example, providing proof of attending courses to your agency upon request (certificates), invoices, or communications regarding student misconduct or possible violations of our terms of service.
Tradecraft Training reserves the right to provide information collected to law enforcement or to our attorney(s) for the investigation or legal proceedings related to individuals accessing our content or attending our courses who may provide false information related to their eligibility to attend (such as impersonating law enforcement).
Tradecraft Training will not share or sell your information for any unrelated marketing purposes, or any other reasons not addressed within this privacy policy.
Data Security
Tradecraft Training implements significant reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data.

International Users
